Gondar Emperor’s Castle is a complex of royal palaces and castles in Gondar, Ethiopia. The entire complex covers an area of about 70,000 sqm, and it is dates back to the 17th century and is often referred to by historians as the Camelot of Ethiopia. Located just near the town center one can walk from his/her hotel to the ruins. When in the site the local guide will walk you around while giving brief history of the castles.

Arrival Bole International Airport
On your arrival at Bole International Airport you will be met and transferred to the hotel for overnight.
Day 1: Addis Ababa – Bahar Dar
Pick from the hotel to the airport for the flight to to Bahar Dar. Tour activities in Bahar Dar Include a Visit to the marketplace, boat ride in Lake Tana which is source of the Blue Nile and visit to ancient island monasteries.
Day 2: Bahar Dar – Gondar
Breakfast then depart for Gondar where you will Tour the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring five castles built in the early 17th century by Ethiopian kings. The castles were survived several wars include the World War 2. Later proceed to the church of Debre Birhan Selassie who is famous for its religious art and especially its iconic ceiling depicting angels. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Gondar – Lalibela
Leave Gondar to Lalibela on scheduled flight to visit the magnificent rock-hewn churches which is among the UNESCO World Heritage site. This group of eleven monolithic churches were carved directly into the stone mountainside about 800 years ago. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Lalibela – Addis Ababa
Leisure breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Addis Ababa. Afternoon you may do the city tour of Addis or shopping. Late night we will provide you with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight back home. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Erta Ale Volcano Tour in Ethiopia a spectacular trek to active lava lake which comprises of two active volcano craters within a larger oval-shaped caldera. The two caldera exhibit periodic fountaining of lava causing Lava Lake overflows; this creates spectacular incandescence as the pahoehoe lava flows into the larger caldera around the craters and occasionally beyond. Lava flows in the S crater overflowed its rim in November 2010 (BGVN 36:06).
Erta Ale Volcano Tour Program
Day 1:Mekele to Hamed ela
In the morning transfer to the airport for your schedule flight to Mekele. From Makele drive to Hamedela via Berhale (639 meters above sea level). Pass across the Danakil Depression which is full of eye-catching colors due to the presence of sulphur springs. Some points of the depression lying about 100 meters below sea level. Proceed with the journey to small town of Berhale where the camel caravans stop before they proceed to the northern highlands. En route you see many long caravans going to the salt mines and others coming out of the Danakil with their salt loaded camels. (3-4 hrs drive) Camp at Hamedela.
Day 2: Hamd Ela – Dodom (150 meters)
Early breakfast then at 0630 hrs departs to Askoma (150 meters) which is located at the base of new Erta Ale. The distance between Hamd Ela to Askoma is about 80 km and it is the journey of about 6 hrs passing through changing landscape of solidified lava, rock, sand and the occasional palm lined oasis. The route is also pass through several small hamlets scattered here and there in this desert land. Trek 9 km for about 3 hrs from Askoma to the new Erta Ale. Early dinner and trek up to the new Erta Ale reach the peak at 20:00. The Camels carry all the camping materials and some food, sleeping materials, mattresses and water, to the rim of the volcano. Spend a night at the rim watching the dramatic action of the boiling lava. New Erta Ale is a shield volcano with a base diameter of 30 km and 1km square caldera at its summit which ranks one of the most alluring and physically challenging natural attractions anywhere in Ethiopia. The magma flow moved 3.5 kms south from old Erta Ale to the New eruption point.
Day 3: Explore the Volcano
Proceed with the Erta Ale Volcano Tour by enjoying the sunrise at the volcano and Lake Afdera (102 meters) then walk around the craters. The main crater is 613 meters above sea level with and the depth of 200 m and width of 350 m. The smaller southern pit is 65 m wide and about 100 m deep. At 7:00 hrs leave to Askoma where you will arrive at at 10:30 am. During winter you may visit Lake Afdera which is the deepest depression on the planet. Lake Afdera is Located about 100 m below the sea level. Proceed to Hamed Ela for overnight at the campsite.
Day 4: Hamed Ela – Mekele
Today you will visit Dallol and Lake Assal which are 130 m below the sea level. This place is famous for salt mining. Observe the locals cutting salts block ready to carry by camels. Later drive back to Hamedela and proceed to Mekele where you will take a schedule flight back to Addis Ababa. Overnight in the hotel. On the next day you will be provided with transfer to the airport for your onward flight back home.

Blue Nile Falls Tour Ethiopia Program
Day 1: Addis Ababa-Bahirdar- Lake Tana-Blue Nile Falls
Fly from Addis Ababa to Bahirdar, met and transfer to the hotel for check in. Embark into the boat trip in Lake Tana to visit the ancient 14th century island monasteries of Lake Tana. The 37 islands of Lake Tana shelter twenty monasteries-surviving remnants of an old, contemplative tradition. Because of their isolation, they were used to store treasures and religious relics from all parts of the country. The Lake’s monasteries are famous for their typical Ethiopian religious paintings, illuminated manuscripts, and other ancient church treasures.
Lunch in the hotel, drive for 35 KM to the majestic Blue Nile Falls. Blue Nile measure 45m-high and they form the most spectacular waterfall in Africa. Walking to the fall through the beautiful river gorge on the ancient bridge from the 17th century, and meeting the local people at the small villages on the way to the fall is also a great experience.
Day 2: Bahirdar-Lalibela
Breakfast in the hotel, transfer to Bahirdar airport for a flight to Lalibela. At the airport meet and transfer to the hotel for check in then drive to the site of the Ethiopia’s most famous rock hewl churches which referred by many as “the living wonders of the world”. The monolithic churches were carved out of 2,600-sq meter natural rock terrace in the 12-century AD by king Lalibela.
Bete Medhani Alem, the largest monolithic rock-hewn church in the world, measures 37.7 ft in height, covers an area of almost 2625 square ft and has walls that are up to six feet thick. A plain building supported by 36 pillars on the inside and another 36 pillars around the outside, Bete Medhani Alem was modeled on the original St. Mary Zion Church built by King Ezana in the 4th century at Axum.
In the morning the rock churches that you will visit include: Bete Meskel, Bete Medhani Alem, Bete Golgotha Michael, Bete Mariam, Bete Giorgis and Bete Denagil
Lunch then proceed with the tour to other St. Lalibela’s remarkable churches-their architecture and artistry must be seen to be believed. After visiting the churches proceed with the walking through the complex bewildering labyrinth of underground tunnels to the monastery were the monks and nuns live.

Day 3: Lalibela-Addis Ababa

Start the Lalibela rock churches tour early in the morning by visiting the eleven rock-hewn monolithic (carved from a single rock) which is now the UNESCO World heritage site, with magnificent architecture & paintings inside the churches. The local guide will briefly explain about the history of the churches and walk you around to see all the beautiful architecture. Day 2: Lalibela Rock-hewn Churches
Right after breakfast, an early morning drive will take you to historical churches around Lalibela like the Hill Church of Asheton Mariam (on the back of a mule or on foot), Yimerhane Kirsotos, Nakute LeAb or Genete Maryam. Overnight stay in Panoramic View Hotel, Lalibela.
Day 3: Flight back to Addis Ababa and departure
After a relaxed breakfast, a drive to the lalibela airport for the local flight back to Addis Ababa which will arrive in the midday. You may spend the afternoon hour do some shopping for souvenirs in Addis.

Day 1: Arrive Addis Ababa
Arrive meet and greet with Wilds of Africa representatives and transfer to the hotel for overnight. If time allows you may embark into a city tour of Addis Ababa where you will visit the national museum (where you can see the Lucy fossil skeleton found), Trinity cathedral church, Entoto hills and Merkato.
Day 2: Drive to Arba Minch via Dorze village
After breakfast depart for Arba minch through villages for the local stovia Dorze people. The Stovia Dorze people have very fascinating culture which revealed by their bamboo built houses and their local farms which they cultivate the false banana used to extract the local brew called Kotcho.
Day 3: Arba Minch – Jinka
Morning after breakfast embark into the boat trip in Lake Chamo where you will see some crocodiles, Hippos and a lot of water birds. After boat trip proceed to Konso for Lunch and drive to Jinka via Tsemay and Ari tribe villages.
Day 4: Mursi Tribe Tour and Turmi
Morning visit the Mursi tribes’ village. The Mursi tribes are famously known for their unique tradition for women to wear lip plate. Yet till up this moment no one knows the origin if this tradition but the Mursi people consider it as the way of distinguishing them from other surrounding tribes. After visiting the Mursi proceed to Turmi.
Day 5: Omorate tribe tour
Today after breakfast we will go to Omorate to visit the Dasenach tribes where we will cross the Omo River by wooden local boat. In the afternoon the tour proceed to the nearby hammer tribe. If lucky you may see some special occasions like wedding ceremonies and ritual.
Day 6: Drive back to Arba minch via Konso
Morning drive to Arba minch on the way visit Konso tribe village. Konso tribe is known for their unique social life structure and practicing the agriculture terracing.
Day 7: Drive back to Addis and Departure
Morning after breakfast visit Tiys Stelae en-route to Addis Ababa. In the evening enjoy the farewell dinner then transfer to the airport for your onward flight back home.
