Family Safari Mikumi Overview
A 3 Days Family Safari Mikumi offers an excellent chance for you and your family to see many different species of big game animals in a short time. Mikumi national park has a unique ecosystem formed between the Rubeho, Udzungwa and Uluguru Mountains with all the animals permanently live within it excepts for the buffaloes and elephants which move to and from this area. This proclaim that when on your Mikumi Safari you will be able to see over 5 species of animals after entering the park gate.
Mikumi National Park is the best for bird watching safari all year around. This is due to the fact it host over four 400 bird species which makes it to be one of the birds paradise place in Tanzania. Although some birds migrates to other parks and to other continents but there are also some resident colourful birds which spend their entire life in Mikumi national park. The resident birds of Mikumi include yellow throated longclow, superb starling and the lilac breasted rollers. The birds of prey which found in Mikumi include crowned eagle, Bateleurs wobble and numerous vultures can be seen sore overhead. There are also a variety of small birds such Dickinson’s kestrel and red naped falcons among others.
We advise our clients conduct the early morning and afternoon game drive during the Mikumi Safari since at this time most animals are often concentrated around water holes on the flat Mkata floodplain.
2 days /1 night safari in Mikumi is good but we recommend 3 days / 2 nights safari as it add the chance to see large cats such as lions and leopards of which you couldn’t see in a 2 days / 1 night safari program.
