3 days Mikumi Safari Package

Mikumi Safari Package is a short holiday break suitable for travelers with limited time who want to experience the nature and wildlife of Mikumi national park. Being the fourth Tanzania largest park, Mikumi national park features diverse and stunning landscapes which offer a peaceful habitats for hundreds of wildlife which you are guarantee to see during your Mikumi Safari. Common animals which you can see includes elephant, giraffe, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, sable, eland, Liechtenstein’s hartebeest, lion, leopard, spotted hyena, and jackal. There are also yellow baboons near Kiboga, at the southern end of the park. 

Game drives during the Mikumi safari is done in different areas of the park but with the main focus to Mkata River Flood Plain and chamgore. These are the main game concentrated areas of the park where a variety of animals within a short period of time. nother attraction of the Mikumi are the two water holes (one is the hippo pool) where many animals gather for water drinking, especially during dry season. Along the water holes different bird species such as saddle-bill storks, hammer kops, and malachite kingfisher can be spotted as well as snimals such as crocodile, monitor lizard, and large pythons. While on Mikumi safari you will get the chance to visit the water holes and spot different bird species such as saddle-bill storks, hammer kops, and malachite kingfisher. Animals such as crocodile, monitor lizard, and large pythons can also seen in the area.  

The best time to visit mikumi national park during the dry season which is from June to October. However the park can be accessed year round due to the presence of tarmac road which cross the park for a distance of about 50 kms. In dry season visitors for Mikumi safari will enjoy an amazing game viewing experience due to the fact that the wildlife are congregated around waterholes and rivers where most of the game drives are conducted. 

Mikumi Safari Itinerary

 

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

At 07:00 am we shall pick you up from the hotel in Dar es Salaam for the journey of about 5 hours to Mikumi National Park. Arrive Mikumi in the afternoon and continue with game drive exploring this beautiful park full of wildlife. Among the amazing things you are going to during the Mikumi safari are the tree climbing lions similarly to that of Lake Manyara. Enjoy the beautiful sunset view while watching animals’ drinking water at the hippo pool.

Day 2: Mikumi Safari Tour

Today we continue with the Mikumi Safari Package by conducting game drives exploring different attractions of the park include the water holes. During the dry season animals use to come to drink in the water holes and predators such lions stalking them. Mikumi national park is one among the few parks in Tanzania where you can frequently see the wild dogs. As the sun set down drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Drive Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

Leisure breakfast, pack the luggage and drive back to Dar with a stop in Morogoro Town for lunch. Arrive Dar es Salaam in the early afternoon and dropped off at the airport or your hotel.
