Ruaha Safari Overviews
3 Days Ruaha Safari; Ruaha National Park is home to a vast variety of animals, plants and birds. The park host an estimated population of 20 000 elephants and 530 different bird species where by half of the bird species found in Tanzania.
Ruaha Safari gives you the chance to explore the Ruaha national park which host one of the largest population of elephants and the endangered Wild dogs in Africa. The most common seen wildlife in Ruaha national park includes large herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, zebra, eland, crocodile, hippo, lion and leopard. The western part of the park is dominated by miombo forest with springs and it is where the sable antelopes found. The Roan antelopes are found in the eastern area of the park.
Guest on Ruaha Safari can enjoy fantastic walking safaris escorted by and an armed guides from the lodge. Game viewing activities in Ruaha national park include classic game drives and walking safaris. Guest will walk into the bush escorted by an armed guide from the lodge. The walking safari gives guest the chance to get close to the nature and identify various plants, spot different species of birds as well as tracking some animals.
Ruaha Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Iringa – Ruaha Safari
Pick up from your hotel in Iringa town at 0600 hrs for the journey to Ruaha National Park with packed lunch. Check in at Tungamalenga Lodge then proceed into the park for a full day game viewing. Ruaha is among the parks with the highest population of elephants in East Africa. It is also the home to spectacular animals such as greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelope can also frequently seen in Miombo woodland. The male Sable antelope have impressive curved horns while male Kudu have beautiful spiraled horns. The park is also the best place to spot the endangered wild dogs. Other animals in the park include lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat eared foxes and Jackals. Evening drive to Tungamalenga Lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 2: Ruaha Safari
After breakfast, depart with picnic lunch for a full day tour in the park. The whole day will be spent in the park viewing the amazing wildlife. Dinner and Overnight at Tungamalenga Lodge.
Day 3: Game Viewing in Ruaha National Park.
After breakfast, depart for half day game viewing in the park than back to the lodge for hot lunch. In the afternoon drive back to Iringa town.
