Day Trip Mkomazi National Park

A day safari to Mkomazi National Park is an excellent choice for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience away from the crowds at the northern circuit’s more famous parks. Set between the Pare and Usambara mountain ranges, Mkomazi is known for its open savannah, striking mountain views, and conservation work to protect endangered species. It may be less visited than Serengeti or Ngorongoro, but that is part of its appeal: You can enjoy a more peaceful safari experience while learning about an important ecosystem.
If you are planning this trip, bear in mind that it’s a long but rewarding day, typically starting very early from either Moshi (about 120 km away) or Arusha (about 190 km away).
