Rock Paintings in Kondoa Irangi contains one of the world’s finest collections of prehistoric drawings. The site has an estimated 1600 individual paintings at almost two hundred different sites. The most accessible cave paintings are in the Irangi Hills north of Kondoa. The most recent date from just a century or two ago, but the oldest are estimated to be between 19,000 and 30,000 years old, ranking them among the world’s most ancient examples of human artistic expression.
Rock Paintings Tour Program
Day 1: Dar es Salaam.
Arrive Dar es Salaam International Airport met and transferred to the hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Dar es Salaam Dodoma
Transfer to the Dar es Salaam bus terminal for a bus to Dodoma which departs at 08:00 am and arrive Dodoma in the Afternoon. Upon your arrival in Dodoma you will be met and transfer to St Gasper Hotel for check in. Afternoon at leisure overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Kondoa Irangi Pahi site
Breakfast in the hotel then leave for Kondoa at 08:00 am. Arrive Kondoa in the late morning hours for check in and luch in the guest house. Afternoon visit the rock paintings site at pahi till evening. Dinner and overnight New Geneva hotel/ Dudu rest house.
Day 4: Kondoa Irangi Thawi Sites
Today proceed with the rock paintings visit to Thawi sites at 09:00 am, hot lunch at 14:30hrs and afternoon proceed to Kandaga sites.

Day 5: Kondoa – Dar es Salaam
At 07:00 am, leave Kondoa to Dar es Salaam via Dodoma and short stop for lunch in Morogoro. Arrive Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon where you be dropped in the hotel or airportyou’re your onward flight back home.
