Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! When you arrive at either Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport, the Wilds of Africa tour guide will warmly welcome you and help with your luggage and give you a brief overview of your upcoming adventure. Afterward, you’ll be taken to downtown Arusha to your accommodation for a relaxing evening and overnight stay, allowing you to unwind and get ready for the exciting journey ahead. Day 2: Tarangire National Park
We will begin your safari trip in Tanzania by picking you up from your hotel at 8:00 AM and heading to Tarangire National Park. This park is renowned for its varied landscapes, which encompass nine distinct vegetation zones. Among its notable features are the majestic baobab trees and the Tarangire River, a vital water source during the dry season. The river attracts a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes. Additionally, predators such as lions, hyenas, and leopards can often be seen along the riverbanks, following the herds. Tarangire is known to host the largest elephant population in the country, providing a unique opportunity to witness the social interactions of elephant families. The lunch area is particularly captivating, featuring an observatory that offers stunning views of the river and its wildlife, with a good chance of observing a hunt during your picnic. In the afternoon, we will embark on another game drive before returning to the camp. Dinner and overnight stay at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
Continue your safari adventure in Tanzania as you journey through the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Manyara National Park for an entire day of game driving. Covering an area of 205 square miles, Lake Manyara is one of the smaller parks, yet it boasts a variety of landscapes, including lush acacia forests, towering fig trees, and mahogany groves, along with a thriving population of baboons and blue monkeys. During your safari at Lake Manyara National Park, you can expect to encounter a range of wildlife, such as giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a significant number of buffaloes and hippos. The game drives along the lake offer breathtaking photographic opportunities, featuring giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground with the lake and its flamingos in the background. Additional activities are available on this day, including a biking tour or a boat ride. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to your lodge for a restful evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 4: Safari Trip Tanzania – Serengeti National Park
Following an early breakfast, you will resume your safari trip in Tanzania, heading towards the renowned Serengeti National Park, celebrated as one of the most iconic national parks in the world. The initial sight of the Serengeti is truly unforgettable. As you venture deeper into the park, you will understand why its name translates to “endless plains” in the local language. Spanning an impressive 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), the vast plains extend to the horizon, challenging your sense of distance and perception. This remarkable area is the setting for the Great Migration, which features two million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various species of antelopes. Additionally, it serves as a prime location for observing large predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Dinner and overnight at Enkirari Wilderness Camp
Day 5-6: Serengeti National Park
Dedicate an additional two days of your safari adventure in Tanzania to the exploration of Serengeti National Park. Should you wish to make adjustments to this itinerary, we are happy to tailor it to suit your preferences. During these two days, you will engage in game drives, and you may choose to experience a hot air balloon ride in the early morning. For instance, you could embark on a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and some relaxation, and conclude with an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you might opt for a full-day game drive accompanied by a picnic lunch.
Accommodation will be at Enkirari Wilderness Camp.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
On this day, you have the opportunity to embark on a sunrise game drive, a time when many animals, especially predators, are most active, increasing your chances of witnessing them in pursuit of their prey. You will also have the chance to enjoy the breathtaking African sunrise in a remote setting. Following the game drive, you will return to the camp for a satisfying brunch before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest caldera in the world, teeming with a diverse array of wildlife, including the Big Five. The crater, which reaches a depth of 2,000 feet and spans an area of 102 square miles, features a river, multiple swamps, a soda lake renowned for its high concentration of flamingos, forests, and expansive plains. It is particularly famous for its elephants, known for being the largest in the world, complete with impressive tusks. The Ngorongoro Crater is indeed a remarkable sight to experience. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Pakulala Safari Camp.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Excursion
Today, your safari journey in Tanzania continues as you descend to the crater floor for an extraordinary morning of wildlife observation in one of the most breathtaking locations on the planet. Following the game drive, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a picnic lunch by the picturesque hippo lake. After lunch, we will embark on a brief additional game drive before ascending the crater. Upon leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we will head towards Lake Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.
Day 9: Safari Trip Tanzania – Lake Eyasi
Wake up early, just before dawn, to engage with the Hadzabe people, one of Africa’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. Spend the day immersing yourself in their daily routines, whether by joining the men on a hunting expedition or accompanying the women into the bush to forage for fruits. This experience will provide valuable insights into the Hadzabe’s unique lifestyle and will undoubtedly be a highlight of your safari.
After your time with the Hadzabe, you will proceed to the nearby shallow Lake Eyasi. In the afternoon, you will travel to Lake Manyara Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar, where you will enjoy an overnight stay at Nungwi Dreams by Mantis.
Days 10-11: Zanzibar
Experience the breathtaking beauty of this paradise, characterized by stunning white sand beaches and the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. During your stay, you have the option to organize a full or half-day excursion to explore Stone Town, visit spice farms, and discover Prison Island (lunch not included). Day 12: Zanzibar
Utilize the final hours of your safari adventure in Tanzania to unwind. Subsequently, you will be transferred to Zanzibar airport for your international flight back home.
