Day 1: Fly Dar es Salaam to Iringa – Ruaha National Park
The Ruaha safari starts by picking you up from the hotel in Iringa town at 08:30 am and drive for about 2 to 3 hours through the remarkable landscapes of Iringa. Along the way you will see a number of villages full of people busy farming. The dominant tribe of this area is the Hehe who famously known by fearlessly fighting against the German authority during colonial time. Arrive Ruaha for lunch at Tanapa Cottage and in the afternoon continue with the game drive till evening. Dinner and overnight at Tanapa Cottages.
Day 2: Ruaha Safari
Breakfast, depart for the morning game and afternoon drive along Ruaha River. During dry season herds of animals tends to congregate along the banks of Ruaha River seeking for fresh pastures and clean water. Predators such as lions and hyena are frequently seen stalking herbivores along the river banks. Hot lunch in the lodge, dinner and overnight at the Tanapa Bandas.
Day 3: Ruaha Safari – Iringa- Fly to Dar es Salaam
Early game drive in Ruaha national park then at 10:00 am back to the lodge for breakfast. After the breakfast pack your luggage and depart for the journey back to Iringa town via the maasai cultural boma which is located at Tunga malenga village near the park. Enjoy the maasai dance which will be performed by the worriers and the girls and learn a bit about the Maasai culture and tradition. While in there you will also get the chance to enter inside the maasai huts and experience it. Proceed to Iringa where you be dropped at the hotel.
