Katavi Gombe Safari Overviews
Katavi Gombe Safari is a combined tour to two of the most remote parks in the western Tanzania near lake Tanganyika. Katavi offers a brilliant game viewing experience where visitors can see one the largest populations of hippos, elephants, and buffaloes. Gombe on the other side offers one of the world best chimpanzee trekking in the tropical forest on the shore of Lake Tanganyika. Katavi Gombe Safari Program
Day 1: Arrive Mpanda
Pick up from Mpanda airport or bus terminal and transfer to Lyamba la Mfipa Village Hotel for overnight.
Day 2: A Full Day Game Drives in Katavi
After breakfast, drive into the park for a full day game drive exploring the wilderness of Katavi with picnic lunches. Enjoy the picturesque view for park by doing game drive along the meandering river and patches of forest. Dinner and Overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge.
Day 3: Game viewing in Katavi.
Start the day with a sunrise walking safari to explore the untamed Katavi floodplain, walk near water pods and watch hippos and other wildlife at close range; late morning break for brunch. Proceed with afternoon game drive safari to Katavi’s inner side. Overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge.
Day 4: Depart to Gombe Via Kigoma
After breakfast, depart by road to Kigoma town where you will arrive at lunch time. Afternoon at leisure in the hotel. Overnight at Gombe Rest House.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking at Gombe National Park
Early morning catch up a boat to Gombe with picnic lunch. Arrive Gombe and proceed with chimpanzee tracking in the forest and bird watching. The ranger will help you spot several families of chimpanzee. Dinner and overnight Gombe Rest House.
Day 6: Depart Gombe
Morning chimpanzee tracking back for lunch in rest house, then take a boat ride back to Kigoma. In Kigoma we will arrange for your transfer to the airport of bus terminal
