Mikumi Camping Safari; Mikumi National Park is the third largest park in Tanzania and the most accessible park as well as the nearest park to Dar es Salaam after the saadani. Since this park borders with Selous game reserve to the south many animals migrate between the two parks interchangeably. The movements of animals from Selous to Mikumi causes an available sufficient number of animals in Mikumi and therefore makes it to be one the of best safari destination in Southern Tanzania.

Mikumi national park host a big variety of mammals, reptiles and over 400 species of birds. Day 1: Full Day Mikumi Camping Safari

Start your Mikumi Camping Safari by departing Dar-es-Salaam at 8:30 am to Mikumi National Park with lunch boxes. Arrive Mikumi and therefore continues with game drive in Chamgore (place of the python), and Mkata Flood Plain. The mkata floodplains has the highest game concentration in the park. Some animals that you can see on game drive include hippos, elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, crocodiles and several species of antelopes. Since Mikumi host over 400 species of bird therefore it is also the best site for bird watching. If you a bird lover your guide will assist you to spot and identify some of the birds.  In the late afternoon drive outside the park for a short distance to Camp Bastian where you will spend a night with all meals included.


Day 2: Sunrise Game Drive

Breakfast in the camp, load your luggage and depart for another game drive into the park till late morning hours and then depart to Dar es Salaam.  en-route to Dar es Salaam. At Dar es Salaam we will drop you either at the airport, the hotel or your resident house.
