Lake Eyasi Safari to visit the lesser known tribes the Hadzabe and Datoga. The hadzabe people are the only remaining hunter and gatherer people in the East African region. Through the Lake Eyasi Safari you will explore more about the hadzabe culture and tradition. You will also visit the Datoga tribe who are the local iron smith in the area.
Lake Eyasi Safari Program
Day 1: Arrive Arusha, Tanzania.
Arrive Kilimanjaro International airport, met and greet by our driver guide and assisted through customs and immigration formalities. Thereafter, drive to Arusha town for dinner and overnight at Impala Hotel.
Day 2: Arusha – Lake Eyasi safari
Breakfast in the hotel, depart for Lake Eyasi safari to meet up the elusive Hadzabe tribe, whom you learn more about their fascinating culture. Picnic lunch then go for Dagota village tour then back in the evening for dinner & overnight at Tindiga Tented camp
Day 3: Full day Hadzabe in Lake Eyasi
Start off early with your bushman guide to meet a group of resident Hadzabe people. Enjoy the Hadzabe Tour walking into the bush with the only hunter-gatherers remaining in the East African region. The Hadzabe speak a click-based language and move their encampments with the seasonal movements of the wildlife. Your guide is a member of the group so he will explain to you about their customs and their way of life. You will get a chance to hunt, track wildlife , make fire and even take honey from bee’s nests with the hadzabe people.
Return to the camp for lunch then afternoon proceed with the activity. Dinner and overnight Tindiga Tented Camp.
Day 4: Lake Eyasi Safari – Serengeti
End up your Lake Eyasi safari this morning by heading to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Pass at Olduvai Gorge for a few hours tour before proceeding to Serengeti. The Olduvai Gorge is the site which Dr. Leakey discovered the remaining of the earliest Man famous known as Zinjanthropus. Arrive Serengeti for picnic lunch then continue with the game drive till evening. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge
Day 5: Serengeti.
Morning and afternoon game drive in Serengeti plains with the possibility to see all big predators, reptiles and large herds of herbivores including wildebeests. The wildebeest migrations are normally in Serengeti from November to July and the early of August. During this season of the year the game of chasing and killing is not rare to be seen. Meals and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge
Day 6: Ngorongoro
Breakfast and then depart for Ngorongoro conservation area. Passing through one of the Maasai boma, enjoy the un-spoilt African culture before proceeding to Ngorongoro crater rim for dinner and dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater.
After breakfast descend the crater wall which measure about 2000fts to the crater floor for a half day crater tour. Picnic lunch will be served in the picnic site on the crater and then ascend the crater wall to the campsite for collection of your luggage and depart for Arusha. Dinner and overnight Impala Hotel
Day 8: Departure day.
After breakfast, depending with your flight schedule we will transfer you to the airport for onward flight to Zanzibar or the international flight back home.
